Rachel Sahr

Rachel Sahr, 92, Jamestown, ND died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown.

Rachel Deborah Wood was born July 14, 1920 in Jamestown, the daughter of Fred T. and Christina (Grosz) Wood. She attended school in Jamestown. On April 29, 1939 Rachel married Ervin L. Sahr in Jamestown. They lived in Jamestown where she worked as a bookkeeper at S & S Wholesale and also did house cleaning and babysitting for numerous Jamestown residents.

Rachel was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the Klose Homemakers Club. She enjoyed collecting dolls, traveling, sewing and arts and crafts.

Rachel is survived by four sons, Ronald (Darlene) Sahr, Watford City, ND, Harold (Shirley) Sahr, Ervin P, Jr (Eunice) Sahr and Dennis Sahr, all of Jamestown; one daughter, Frances K. (Jerald) Kurtz, Jamestown; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Ernest Hubacker, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; seven brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 13, 2012 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Arlyn Coalter officiating.

Visitation: 2:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND
