No. 8 Carrington top seed for Stutsman

The Cardinals, ranked eighth in the latest Class B poll, are off to a 2-0 start with the two wins by a combined 63 points. They open up against eighth-seeded and fellow District 7 member Midkota at 3 p.m.

Ellendale and Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal meet in the 4-5 game at 4:30 p.m.

Edgeley-Kulm is the No. 2 seed and plays Central Prairie in the third game. Napoleon, seeded third, and Kidder County play the final first-round affair. The 2-0 Rebels edged the Imperials 64-58 Tuesday night in Napoleon.

LaMoure defeated Edgeley-Kulm in the championship of last year’s Stutsman County Tournament. LaMoure, and its new co-op with Litchville-Marion, are playing in the Barnes County Tournament this week in Valley City.
