Conrad to deliver farewell speech

U.S. Sen. Kent Conrad, D-N.D., will deliver his farewell speech on the Senate floor at 11 a.m. Central time today.

Conrad will reflect on his time in office and his work for North Dakota and the nation. As chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, he will also discuss the nation’s fiscal challenges and possible solutions.

Conrad will retire from the Senate on Jan. 2 after 26 years of service.
