Lorie Line and her Holiday Extravaganza are at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the DeNault Auditorium in the Reiland Fine Arts Center on the campus of Jamestown College. Tickets are $49 and can be purchased online at

“Be Not Afraid,” a Jamestown College Christmas concert, is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the St. James Basilica. Tickets are $10 and can be reserved from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday by calling the Box Office at 252-3467, ext. 5435, or by email to

Jamestown High School Choir and Orchestra holiday concert, is at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Jamestown High School auditorium. Admission is a freewill offering.
The Jamestown Middle School band Christmas concert is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Jamestown Middle School gymnasium. There is no admission charge.
A bluegrass jam session is from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Barnes County Museum. Players are welcome to bring an instrument and play along. There is no admission charge.
An Evening with The McIntyres is at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $8 for adults and $3 for students.

“Finding Polaris I” and “Finding Polaris II,” a Valley City State University Planetarium double feature, is at 2 p.m. Saturday in room 310 of the Rhoades Science Center on the campus of Valley City State University. There is no admission charge.
Around Town
Wood carving with a local wood carving group is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays in the Arts Center’s Hansen Studio. There is no charge. Call Andy Kudrna at 320-5075 with questions.
Public skating is from 7 to 9 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 30 at Wilson Arena. Cost for children is $2, adults $3 and rentals $2. For more information on special packages, call Jamestown Parks and Recreation at 252-3982 or Wilson Arena at 252-3939.
Open swimming is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Jamestown High School Pool. There is no admission charge. Children under 12 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

National Buffalo Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and by appointment only on Sunday. Admission: $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and AAA members, $10 for a family and $1 for children ages 6 to 18.
Alfred Dickey Library hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. To access the Story Line, call 252-7464. The library is located at 105 Third St. SE.
Stutsman County Library hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at 910 Fifth St. SE.

The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Historic Site near Cooperstown is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday through Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday. The Arrowwood National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center near Pingree is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The refuge trail system is open daily sunrise to sunset.
Art
A contemporary cowboy art exhibit by Walter Piehl Jr. may be viewed at the Arts Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, until Jan. 12. There is no admission charge.
