Jimmies’ Gonzalez earns weekly A.I.I. award
Jamestown College wrestler Johnny Gonzalez has been named the Association of Independent Institution’s Male Athlete of the Week.
Jamestown College wrestler Johnny Gonzalez has been named the Association of Independent Institution’s Male Athlete of the Week.
Gonzalez, a sophomore from San Jose, Calif., went 2-1 at 165 pounds during the Jimmies’ three duals on Friday in Hutchinson, Minn., against Ridgewater, Itasca and St. John’s.
Gonzalez posted pins in his first and third matches sandwiched by a narrow one-point loss despite suffering a rib injury.
The Jimmies are off until after the holidays. They return to action on Jan. 10 when they host Dickinson State.
