DeShawn Jones of Richfield, Minn., Jade Kampfe of Gillette, Wyo., and Coltin Huus of Enderlin, N.D., have signed with the Jimmie men’s basketball team.
Jones, a 6-foot-6 senior, is averaging 18.5 points and nine rebounds per game and currently ranks as the 32nd-best player in Minnesota according to NorthStar Hoops Report.
“DeShawn brings great size, athleticism and skill to our program and will be a contributor to our program from day 1. He has shown that he is physically ready for the college game and we expect big things out of him in his career,” JC coach Justin Wieck said.
Kampfe, a 6-7 senior forward, helped Campbell County High School to 4A state runner-up honors last season. Kampfe suffered a knee injury during the summer and is returning now.
“Jade brings needed size and athleticism to the post for us. He plays for a tremendous high school program in Wyoming, so we know he will be coached and be ready for college basketball,” Wieck said.
Huus, a 6-4 senior, averaged 12.2 points and 5.4 rebounds as a junior, earning co-MVP honors for the Eagles. He was a finalist for the Wilson Scholarship and was awarded the prestigious Mel Arnold academic award.
“Coltin is a local player that we’re excited to have join our program. He brings size and skill to the wing position, something we are focusing on in this recruiting class.”
Wieck is glad to have all three players on board.
“We are excited that DeShawn, Jade and Coltin have decided to join the Jimmie family,” the coach said.
