No. 11 Jimmies host No. 6 Briar Cliff tonight

Two of the top teams in NAIA women’s basketball square off tonight at the Jamestown Civic Center.

The 11th-ranked Jimmies (11-1) host sixth-ranked Briar Cliff of Iowa at 6 p.m.

The Chargers are 12-2 with their only losses coming against No. 1-ranked and undefeated Concordia, Neb. (12-0) and Dordt, Iowa.

Briar Cliff defeated three-time defending national champion and eighth-ranked Northwestern 91-78 on Nov. 14.

The Jimmies’ only loss of the season came to Northwestern in Orange City, Iowa on Nov. 3.

The Jimmies are ranked 10th in points allowed at 55.5, while the Chargers rank eighth in points per game at 82.8.

It’s the final home game for either the JC women or men until they host the DAC Midseason Tournament Jan. 19-20. The Jimmies’ next action after tonight is at the Las Vegas Shootout Dec. 28-29.
