Jays, Jimmies get some holiday rest
The Blue Jays and Jimmies will get down time for the holidays. No team at either Jamestown High School or Jamestown College will play before Dec. 27. That’s when the Blue Jay girls hockey team takes its sparkling 7-1 record to a tournament in Crookston, Minn. Jamestown will play Park Rapids (Minn.) and Grand Forks Dec. 27 and 28. The Blue Jays just beat the Roughriders for the first time in school history last Saturday.

Jamestown will play Park Rapids (Minn.) and Grand Forks Dec. 27 and 28. The Blue Jays just beat the Roughriders for the first time in school history last Saturday.
Grand Forks leads the state with 19 points, but the Blue Jays are just three back with 16. West Fargo is currently second with 18 points.
The Blue Jays boys hockey team hosts Devils Lake Dec. 28. It will be their first game in 14 days. Jamestown is 3-4 overall and fifth in the West with nine points.
The Blue Jay basketball teams also play next Friday when they play the rival Hi-Liners in Valley City. The girls game will feature a pair of unbeaten teams. The Blue Jays are 3-0 and ranked fourth in the state. The Hi-Liners are 4-0 and sit atop the East Region standings. The JHS boys are 0-3, while the Hi-Liners are 2-3.
The Jamestown College basketball teams will enjoy so much friendlier temperatures next week. The 11th-ranked Jimmie women take their 12-1 record to Las Vegas for two games Dec. 28-29, while the 7-7 JC men play back-to-back games against Arizona Christian in Phoenix Dec. 30-31.
All other teams resume in January.
