Letter to the editor: Christmas is about Jesus, the genuine Christmas miracle

I write this letter with sadness for so many victims who have lost children. And with disgust, that respect for human life decreased since 1976.

President Barack Obama in a brief talk after the Newtown, Conn., shootings, said, “Those 20 children will never graduate, get married, have children ...” I might add never play with their Christmas toys they so joyfully waited for.

But how hypocritical of Obama, as the millions upon millions of infants, slaughtered via abortion, will never experience these things.

Gun control will not stop the violence. Those who disrespect life find any means. Not until the Lord Jesus Christ comes back as judge will evil stop. God grants rebirth if we repent, submit to him and are willing to forsake our selfish will for his.

The world’s version of Christmas does not include Jesus Christ. Christmas is Jesus, the gift of God, come in the flesh, to rule and reign on this earth forever. He is the genuine Christmas miracle that we can enjoy each and every day from generation to generation.
