Jamestown Fire Department calls Dec. 9-21:

Dec. 9: 10:50 p.m., fire department responded to 1706 Western Park Village, single family dwelling, to a report of smoke coming from an electrical receptacle. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: electrical receptacle malfunction. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 45 minutes.

Dec. 10: 7:01 A.M., ready squad responded to 212 Third St. NE, Jamestown Civic Center, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: dust in detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 1 hour, 20 minutes.

Dec. 10: 12:46 p.m., ready squad responded to 424 1/2 Second Ave. SW, multi-family dwelling, to investigate spark coming from electrical receptacle. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: electrical receptacle malfunction. Time out: 15 minutes.

Dec. 12: 3:44 a.m., fire department responded to 1407 Seventh Ave. SW, single family dwelling, to a report of a fire in the kitchen. Firefighters extinguished fire. Cause: electrical malfunction in kitchen appliance. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 1 hour, 30 minutes.

Dec. 12: 4:29 p.m., ready squad responded to 201 Fifth Ave. SW, single family dwelling, to investigate a hot smell in fuse panel. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: electrical malfunction. Time out: 20 minutes.

Dec. 13: 3:14 a.m., ready squad responded to 1126 Third Ave. NW, single family dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters checked for carbon monoxide and detected 0 ppm. Occupants were advised to have furnace serviced. Cause: unknown. Time out: 50 minutes.

Dec. 14: 9:26 p.m., ready squad responded to 404 10th St. SW, single family dwelling, to investigate carbon monoxide detector activation. Firefighters checked for carbon monoxide and detected 47 ppm. Occupants were advised to have furnace serviced. Cause: unknown. Time out: 50 minutes.

Dec. 15: 1:24 a.m., ready squad responded to 1315 Fourth St. NE, Rock of Ages, to a report of a smell in kitchen area. Firefighters checked building and noted a gas smell. Cause: pilot light on stove out. Time out: 40 minutes.

Dec. 15: 10:13 p.m., ready squad responded to 1104 Ninth Ave.NW, single family dwelling, to investigate fire alarm activation. Firefighters checked for smoke/fire; none was found. Cause: dust in detector. Fire alarm was reset. Time out: 30 minutes.

Dec. 16: 12:46 a.m., fire department responded to 1510 11th Ave. NE #10, multi-family dwelling, to a report of smoke on second floor. No fire, firefighters exhausted smoke from the building and investigated. Cause: unattended cooking. No firefighter injuries. Time out: 50 minutes.
