FARGO, N.D. (AP) — An anonymous donor has made a $3,000 contribution to someone's layaway account at a Fargo Kmart.

The Forum reports (http://bit.ly/Y2MzLX) that several generous "layaway angels" made discreet appearances to pay for toys and children's clothes on layaway lists.

Several anonymous contributions made in amounts of $200 or $500 have been dropped off as cash or cashier's checks bearing no name. Thursday's gift of $3,000 ranks as the largest so far.

Manager Nick Bosh says the act of kindness is huge.

Bosh says the response is often emotional when customers come into the store after learning that some anonymous, kind-hearted person paid for their child's layaway gift.
