Allen named NDSBA president

At the recent North Dakota School Boards Association’s annual convention, delegates elected Jamestown School Board member Greg Allen as president of the association. Allen will be serving with Vice President Jim Rostad, Minot; Past President Angela Korsmo, West Fargo; Northwest Director Mike Lautenschlager, Lewis & Clark, Berthold; Northeast Director Jennifer Johnson, Larimore; Southwest Director Ben Auch, Mott; and Southeast Director Jim Johnson, Fargo.

Allen has served on the Jamestown School Board since 1994. He was elected to NDSBA Board of Directors in 2009. Then-Gov. John Hoeven appointed Allen to the Education Standards and Practices Board (current chairman), the North Dakota Workforce Development Council and the North Dakota State Commission on National and Community Service.

The mission of the North Dakota School Boards Association includes stimulating interest of members in matters pertaining to public schools, keeping them informed of statewide and national trends, and advocating for excellence in public education through local school board governance.
