Driver hits parked car

More than $5,000 in damage was reported when a driver hit a parked car on Dec. 20, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

More than $5,000 in damage was reported when a driver hit a parked car on Dec. 20, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. on the curve between 16th Street and Third Avenue Southwest.

Jennifer Dooley, 25, 700 Fifth Ave. SE, was driving a 2011 Hyundai passenger car eastbound on 16th Street when she approached the curve, slid on the ice and compacted snow and struck a parked, unattended 2011 General Motors vehicle.

According to the report, Dooley said she panicked, left the scene and called in the accident in the morning. No injuries were reported.

There was an estimated $4,000 in damage to the Hyundai and $1,500 in damage to the General Motors.

Dooley was cited for care required.
