Jimmies can’t cool Firestorm

The first two games of the Jimmies’ holiday road trip did not end well.
After blowing a 14-point first-half lead to once-beaten Arizona Christian University on Sunday night, Jamestown College couldn’t slow down the Firestorm on Monday, losing 76-57 to the Phoenix-based school.
Arizona Christian improved to 10-1 on the season, highlighted by a 44-point opening 20 minutes, as the Jimmies struggled offensively.
Jamestown College made just 19 of its 69 shots in the game and scored only 26 points after halftime.
The Jimmies were led by Mark Hoge’s 21 points, but nobody else had more than eight. Freshman Dan Janu added eight points. Davon Thomas had a team-best seven rebounds.
Arizona Christian pounded JC on the glass, outrebounding the Jimmies 50-38.
Four Firestorm players scored in double figures with Charles King leading the way with 21 points.
The Jimmies, who fell to 7-9 with their third straight loss, play two more games on the trip. First, they take on Northern New Mexico College in Espanola, N.M., on Thursday before traveling to Denver, Colo., to play Johnson & Wales University. The JC women will also play both days.
