SCARTA members donate to pantry

The Stutsman County Area Retired Teachers Association met Dec. 18. Members brought non-perish- able food items to be donated to a food pantry.

President Tom Norman presided over the business meeting. Discussion centered around the upcoming January meeting and the Feb. 3 Community Card Party. There is a possibility of a change in location of the card party because of the proposed move of the James River Senior and Community Center to the former Jamestown Hospital location. Plans should be finalized at the Jan. 22 meeting.

A moment of silence was observed in remembrance of the children, staff and families of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Following lunch, SCARTA members heard entertainment provided by the Jamestown Blue Jay Jazz Choir under the direction of Cheryl McIntyre.
