Travel alert issued for western North Dakota

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Motorists in western North Dakota are dealing with icy roads.

The state Department of Transportation says blowing snow is sticking to roadways and causing slick conditions. The agency had originally issued a travel alert for the Williston and Minot regions. As of 10 a.m. the travel alert was expanded to the Dickinson and Bismarck areas. That means motorists can still travel but should use caution.

Temperatures in many parts of the state hit 30 degrees early Wednesday, and the National Weather Service says daytime highs through the weekend should be about as balmy.
