The Jamestown High School girls basketball team held on to a ranking, sitting fifth in the latest Class A state media poll.
The Blue Jays, recently dealt their first loss of the season by Valley City (5-0), dropped from being tied for fourth in the last poll. They have 10 points, one ahead of Valley City, which is the top vote-getter not in the top five with nine points.
Fargo Shanley is top-ranked, moving up from second with five first-place votes. Bismarck Century isn’t far behind, receiving one first-place vote. Bismarck High, which received three first-place votes, is tied with West Fargo for third.
Grand Forks Red River received eight of nine first-place votes to move into the top spot in the boys poll after beating Minot, which remained in the No. 2 spot. Fargo Shanley’s loss to Bismarck St. Mary’s dropped it to third from the top spot, while St. Mary’s received one first-place vote and is fourth. West Fargo and Fargo Davies are tied for fifth.
