Carrington tops L-A-E for Ramsey tourney title

Kayla Hochhalter was named Ramsey County Tournament MVP as the Cardinals topped Lakota-Adams-Edmore 51-40 in the championship game Saturday in Devils Lake.
Hochhalter scored 12 points and Breana Barton added 10 in the victory. Jacey Engelhorn and Nikki Braaten each contributed nine points.
The Cardinals put the clamps on L-A-E defensively, allowing no more than 12 points in any quarter, including just nine in the final eight minutes.
Fallyn Freije poured in a game-high 23 points for Lakota-Adams-Edmore, which lost for just the second time in six games.
Hochhalter and teammate Josey Page were named to the all-tournament team.
