MINOT (AP) — A new hotel is under construction in Minot.

The Minot Daily News reported that the Hyatt House will be the 12th new hotel opening in the area in recent months.

The 130-suite extended stay facility is the first and only Hyatt House in North Dakota. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the spring.

Barry Farah, of Colorado Springs, Colo., is the developer and general contractor.

Paul Moore, spokesman for Farah, said Minot was chosen because of its proximity to oil and gas development, an air force base, a university and possible potash development.
