No. 3 Napoleon top seed for Stutsman

Third-ranked Napoleon is the No. 1 seed for the Stutsman County Tournament, which begins Thursday at the Jamestown Civic Center.

The Imperials square off with eighth-seeded Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier in the opening game at 3 p.m.

Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal is seeded fourth and takes on the Carrington JV in the second game.

Ellendale gets the No. 2 seed and meets seventh-seeded Central Prairie around 6 p.m. Third-seeded Midkota and sixth-seeded South Border play the final opening-round game of the day.

Consolation games begin at 3 p.m. on Friday with the semifinals set for around 6.

Play begins one hour earlier on Saturday with the seventh-place game at 2.

Midkota is the defending tournament champions. The Mustangs defeated the Napoleon Imperials 64-58 in last year’s championship game, ending Napoleon’s steak of two consecutive Stutsman Tourney titles.
