Stutsman Rural Water’s board of directors hopes to meet with Jamestown officials yet this week. The board discussed its strategy during an executive session as part of its regular meeting Wednesday.
The city of Jamestown and Stutsman Rural Water have been embroiled in a disagreement over which company should provide water to the area near Jamestown Regional Medical Center including the Titan Machinery building under construction.
“We’ve got to be optimistic but we’ll see what they respond,” said Terry Nieland, president of the Stutsman Rural Water Board. “We are hoping they bring specifics.”
Geneva Kaiser, manager of Stutsman Rural Water, said the intent was to solve the disagreement as soon as possible. She anticipated a joint meeting might be scheduled before Thursday or Friday.
“The main thing is to get Titan hooked up,” she said. “We do have the water available.”
