“Retreats and the Spiritual Life” is the topic for this month’s Tabernacle Society’s meeting at St. James Basilica.

The presentation will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the community room at St. James Basilica and will be led by Shirley Wallace, director of faith formation at the Basilica.

Some of the questions that will be addressed are: What is a retreat? What are the different kinds of retreat? What are some of the spiritual growth opportunities in the community and the surrounding area?

The evening will include short presentations from participants of Cursillo and Marriage Encounter and information about spirituality resources online.

Wallace is certified in spiritual direction by the Center for Spiritual Development that was located in Mankato, Minn., and has a master’s degree in religious education from Seattle University. She is in her ninth year as director of faith formation at St. James.

The public is invited to attend.
