BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A ceremony is scheduled in Bismarck this weekend to honor some North Dakota National Guard soldiers who served in Kosovo.
The “Freedom Salute” event Sunday for the 55 soldiers with the 1st Battalion of the 112th Aviation Regiment is at the Army Aviation Support Facility. Gov. Jack Dalrymple and state Guard commander Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk (sprihn-suh-NAT’-ihk) are scheduled to speak.
The soldiers mobilized in September 2011 in support of the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. They returned home last September.
