GRAND FORKS (AP) — A Grand Forks paraprofessional accused of trying to lure a 12-year-old girl over the Internet was asked to resign from a prior position in Edmore.

Former Adams-Edmore Superintendent Jim Larson told WDAY-TV that he asked 28-year-old Jeremy Thompson to resign after Thompson allegedly was caught passing inappropriate notes to a student.

Thompson resigned in Edmore in December 2010, citing personal reasons. He had been working and coaching in Grand Forks schools but has been put on unpaid leave after his arrest for allegedly trying to lure a girl from Edmore. He is scheduled to enter pleas on Feb. 22 to two counts of luring minors by computer. He has requested a court-appointed attorney.
