JPD warns of sex offender here

The Jamestown Police Department is warning Jamestown residents regarding a convicted sex offender living in Jamestown.

The Jamestown Police Department is warning Jamestown residents regarding a convicted sex offender living in Jamestown.

Matthew Alan Jasmann, 32, lives at 1213 11th St. SE. He is described as white male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. He drives a white 1993 Chevy K2500 pickup with North Dakota license DAR293.

Jasmann has been assigned a high-risk assessment by the North Dakota risk level committee, Office of the Attorney General.

Jasmann was convicted of gross sexual imposition on Dec. 21, 2001, in Stutsman County District Court. He was accused of engaging in various sex acts with numerous girls ages 13 to 17. He was sentenced to 10 years disposition with two years suspended and supervised probation.

He was also convicted of gross sexual imposition on April 12, 1994, in Stutsman County District Court. He was accused of having sex with a 10-year-old girl and her younger sister. He was sentenced to 18 months with juvenile services.

Jasmann is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate the offender. Attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten these offenders or their families, landlords or employers will be turned over for prosecution.
