FARGO — North Dakota State assistant football coach Tim Polasek appears to be on his way to Northern Illinois, according to a coaching website. NDSU head coach Craig Bohl said Saturday he could not comment.
The prime connection could be Polasek’s Wisconsin background.
Northern Illinois head coach Rod Carey was an assistant at Wisconsin-Stout from 2000-06, which is the same league where Polasek was an assistant at Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 2003-05. Carey was also the offensive line coach at the University of North Dakota from 2008-10.
Polasek coached the tight ends, fullbacks and special teams this season.
