Jimmies pick up sweep of Oglala

The Jimmies rebounded to improve to 8-12 on the year with a convincing 96-65 win over Oglala College in Kyle, S.D.

The Jimmies rebounded to improve to 8-12 on the year with a convincing 96-65 win over Oglala College in Kyle, S.D.

Dan Janu finished with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while point guard Breshion Tucker had 16 points and five assists.

Jeses Behm had a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Mark Potter hit a trio of 3-pointers to finish with 11.

JC led 49-28 at halftime.

Mines 68, JC 39

The Jimmie men struggled offensively Friday night, scoring just 39 points in a lopsided loss to South Dakota Mines.

Jamestown College, who dropped to 7-12 with the loss, was without their two leading scorers — Mark Hoge and Davon Thomas.

The Jimmies shot just 32 percent in the game (14-for-44) and missed all 13 3-pointers they attempted.

Freshman Dan Janu led all scorers in the game with 15 points. The Jimmies scored just 16 first-half points.

South Dakota Mines improved to 12-6 with the win.

The JC men haven’t played at home since Dec. 8, but they’ll be back on their home floor with the Dakota Tip-off Classic on Saturday and Sunday at the Civic Center. They play Dakota State the first day and will either play Mayville State or Valley City State on Sunday.

Jordan Bridges tallied a team-high 17 points while Megan Pold finished with 16 as Jamestown College clobbered Oglala College to improve their record to 16-3.

The 15th-ranked Jimmies received 13 rebounds from Pold with freshman Jessica Buck adding 10. Maggie Seter had a team-high nine assists in the win.

JC plays Dakota State at 5 p.m. on Saturday in the Dakota Tip-off Classic at the Civic Center.
