Bismarck Century flexed its muscles in front of its home crowd on Tuesday night.

The second-ranked Patriots, who are defending state champions, put on a dominant show, easing past fifth-ranked Jamestown 73-46 in West Region play.

The Patriots opened the game with a 15-0 run and didn’t look back, using a 3-point barrage in the first half to sink the Blue Jays.

Century, which improved to 6-0 in the West and 8-1 overall, received 17 points from senior standout Hannah Larson. Sophomore Jordyn Jossart and junior Jen Benz added 16 and 11 points, respectively.

The Blue Jays were led in scoring by junior Paige Peterson with 15. Standout Kyra Dewald was held under her 19-point average with 14.

Jamestown (3-1, 5-2 overall) is off until it travels to Bismarck St. Mary’s on Tuesday.

Robert Hutchins drilled six 3-pointers in the second half as Bismarck Century rolled to an 87-40 West Region victory.

Hutchins finished with 23 points after hitting three straight 3-pointers to start the second half. Jamestown trailed 35-24 at halftime and scored early in the second half to cut the deficit to nine points when Hutchens’ assault from the perimeter started.

The Blue Jays struggled on offense most of the night, scoring just six points in the first eight minutes of play in the second half.

Tyler Rudolph had 18 points and seven rebounds for the Patriots, who improved to 5-1 in the region and 6-3 overall.

Jamestown played competitively in the first half, but Century’s adjustments paid huge dividends the rest of the way. The Blue Jays received 12 points and eight rebounds from Brandon Wegner, while David Hanson added eight points.

Jamestown (1-3 West, 2-5 overall) visits Bismarck St. Mary’s on Tuesday.
