Optimist Club cites athletes for awards

Jenna Stilwell and Andy Oslund of Jamestown High School and Jamestown College’s Maggie Seter and Michael Nord have been named Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club.

Stilwell, a sophomore on the JHS gymnastics team, had a career high all around of 34.35 at the Wahpeton Invite and placed in the top five on four of the five events.

Oslund, a junior on the Blue Jay swimming team, won the 200 freestyle in a dual against Bismarck Century and qualified for state in the 200 and 500 frees.

Seter, a sophomore from New Prague, Minn., on the JC women’s basketball team, hit two late 3-pointers and went 2-for-2 on three throws in the Jimmies’ win over South Dakota Mines. For the week she had 22 points, nine assists and five rebounds in two victories.

Nord, a sophomore wrestler at JC, won his match at 165 pounds by pin against No. 9 Dickinson State and then went 4-0 to win the 165-pound title at the Hastings (Neb.) Tournament. He defeated his older brother Patrick, also a Jimmie, in the championship match 3-2.
