Class B roundup: No. 5 Cards get win No. 11

The fifth-ranked Carrington boys basketball team pushed its record to 11-0 in Glenfield on Thursday, defeating the Midkota Mustangs 75-44. All told, 10 Cardinal players scored in the win, led with Scott Burnham’s 18-point effort. Carrington started the game strong, building a 26-9 advantage after one period.

The fifth-ranked Carrington boys basketball team pushed its record to 11-0 in Glenfield on Thursday, defeating the Midkota Mustangs 75-44.

All told, 10 Cardinal players scored in the win, led with Scott Burnham’s 18-point effort. Carrington started the game strong, building a 26-9 advantage after one period.

Midkota also received an 18-point night from senior Austin Monson.

In a shortened contest, Griggs County Central’s Kris Wathne scored 17 points to help the Cougars get past the Rebels at Pingree-Buchanan High School.

The game was called with 4:57 remaining in the third period due to wet floor conditions.

JR Perleberg paced the home team with 11 points.

Brad Clemens scored 17, while Derek Fletcher tossed in 14, for the Bison.
