Pee Wee B tops Pine City, Minn.

The Jamestown-Valley City Pee Wee B hockey team went 1-3 at the Detroit Lakes Pee Wee B tournament Jan. 11-13.

The Jamestown-Valley City Pee Wee B hockey team went 1-3 at the Detroit Lakes Pee Wee B tournament Jan. 11-13.

JVC won its final game 5-1 over Pine City, Minn., as Tyler Trader registered a hat trick. Ian Nelson and Braydon Gasal also scored. Brady Sortland (2), Collin White, Connor Rene and Andrew Haugland had assists. Sam Neumann stopped 17 of 18 shots in goal.

JVC opened with a 1-0 loss against Northern Lakes, Minn. Neumann had 29 saves.

Tanner Hillerud and Trader had goals in a 5-2 setback to Thief River Falls, Minn. Noah Cabezas earned an assist.

Game 3 ended in a narrow 4-3 loss to Greenway, Minn. Sortland lit the lamp twice, while Trader had a goal and assist. Jin Qui Rhoad also got an assist. Neumann had 14 saves.
