N.D. airports set record boardings

North Dakota’s eight commercial airports finished 2012 with a record 1.02 million passenger boardings.

BISMARCK (AP) — North Dakota’s eight commercial airports finished 2012 with a record 1.02 million passenger boardings.

State Aeronautics Commissioner Larry Taborsky said demand for airline travel was strong across the state.

Fargo had the most passengers during the year, with just under 365,000. That was up from about 350,000 in 2011. Minot had the biggest percentage increase in boardings over the year, of 49 percent.

Airports in the Oil Patch cities of Dickinson and Williston also had big jumps, of 26 percent and 35 percent, respectively.
