Bowman wins JAHA Geographic Bee

The local Bee, at which students answered oral questions on geography, was the first round in the 25th annual National Geographic Bee. The second phase for Bowman will be a written test. Students from across the state scoring in the top 100 on the written test will compete in Bismarck on April 5. The National Geographic Society will provide an all-expense-paid trip to Washington for state champions and teacher-escorts to participate in the national championship rounds May 20-22. The first-place national winner will receive a $25,000 college scholarship, a lifetime membership in the society and a trip to the Galapagos Islands.
