Jimmies sweep easily

Jamestown College didn’t waste any time against Oglala Lakota College (S.D.) Sunday at the Civic Center.

The men (12-13) won 113-59, while the 14th-ranked women (20-4) preceded that with a 102-18 victory. Both teams are back in action on Wednesday, when they play a doubleheader at Valley City State, set for 5:30 p.m.

Women

All 12 Jimmies scored at least four points with Maggie Seter and Chelsey Frydenlund tying for game-high honors with 14. Jessica Buck added 10.

JC used an 18-0 run to start the game and led 51-11 at halftime. The fast-paced game was aided by just 11 fouls called.

JC’s defense forced 42 OLC turnovers including seven steals from Frydenlund.

Men

Davon Thomas had a game-high 26 points to lead six players in double figures.

Breshion Tucker had 19, while Andre Maund finished with 14. Jared Sutherland (14), Mark Hoge (13) and Jesse Behm (11) rounded out double-digit scoring for the Jimmies, who led 59-24 at halftime.

Maund and Hoge each hit a trio of 3-pointers as JC had 12 as a team to boost scoring. The Jimmies also finished 29-of-40 at the line.
