Jimmies’ Iverson earns A.I.I. award

Jamestown College’s Nikki Iverson has been named the Association of Independent Institution’s Female Athlete of the Week.

Jamestown College’s Nikki Iverson has been named the Association of Independent Institution’s Female Athlete of the Week.

Iverson, a junior and former Blue Jay standout, won the Cobber Pentathlon with 2,762 points on Friday in Moorhead. Her score also qualified her for the NAIA national indoor meet.

Iverson won the long jump (15-11.50) and 800 meters (2:36.87). She was third in the 60 hurdles and fourth in the high jump. She also placed fifth in the triple jump at the Cobber Open on Saturday.

Valley City State basketball player Sekani Milligen was the Male Athlete of the Week after averaging 25.5 points in two wins.

Jamestown College plays at VCSU Wednesday night in a men’s and women’s doubleheader, beginning at 5 p.m.
