Carrington falls two spots in B poll

The Carrington Cardinal boys basketball team slipped from No. 5 to No. 7 in the latest state Class B basketball poll released Monday.

The Carrington Cardinal boys basketball team slipped from No. 5 to No. 7 in the latest state Class B basketball poll released Monday.

Carrington (13-1) suffered its first loss of the season at No. 5-ranked Four Winds-Minnewaukan 74-59 last Friday. The Indians (12-2) jumped from sixth to fifth in the poll as a result.

Carrington now plays its final 5 regular-season games at home, starting tonight against Harvey/Wells County. The District 7 tournament is slated to get underway Feb. 14 in Devils Lake.

The top 4 spots in the poll remained unchanged, with Beulah (15-0) leading the way. The only other undefeated team is No. 8-ranked Strasburg-Zeeland (14-0).

LaMoure-Litchville/Marion (12-2) and Griggs County Central (11-3) received votes in the poll.

On the girls side, Napoleon (11-1) holds firm at the No. 5 spot. Central Cass (7-2), Lakota/Adams-Edmore (10-2) and Benson County (9-1) are receiving votes.
