N.D. farmers get more time for taxes

Tax Commissioner Cory Fong says North Dakota is recognizing an Internal Revenue Service extension of the deadline for farmers and ranchers to file and pay taxes.

BISMARCK (AP) — Tax Commissioner Cory Fong says North Dakota is recognizing an Internal Revenue Service extension of the deadline for farmers and ranchers to file and pay taxes.

The IRS recently announced it was extending the date for federal returns from March 1 to April 15, and Fong said North Dakota will do the same.

The April 15 extension is due to the late timing of changes made by Congress, affecting the IRS’s ability to accept and process tax forms.
