JHS group performs at NSU festival

Submitted photo The Jamestown High School “Blue Jazz” and Show Choir performed at the Northern State University Jazz Festival under the direction of Cheryl McIntyre. The format for the festival was changed this year to be a workshop rather than a competitive event. The Blue Jazz and Show Choir worked with Wendy Van Gent from Northern State University, Aberdeen, S.D. Students had the opportunity to listen to other vocal jazz groups and a jazz concert in the evening featuring the NSU Jazz Band and guest artists. JHS Vocal Jazz members are: front, from left, Mary Joy, Hunter Carpenter and Jana Lynch; second row, from left, Garrett Greshik, Myriah Koebernick, Beth Jensen and Jaden Stading; third row, from left, Delcan O’Higgins, Isabella Hjelkrem and Shane Chandler; and back row, from left, Kara Fix, Chandler Hertz, Tom Mortenson and Brittany McIntyre.
