Jimmie volleyball signs Red River’s Anderson

Kaitlin Anderson of Grand Forks Red River has signed with the Jamestown College volleyball team.

Kaitlin Anderson of Grand Forks Red River has signed with the Jamestown College volleyball team.

Anderson, a 5-foot-10 middle hitter, had 253 kills, 101 blocks, 101 digs and 38 aces this past season for the Roughriders, who advanced to the championship at the state tournament before losing to Bismarck Century. Anderson was named to the all-state tournament team.

“Kaitlin is not only an accomplished volleyball athlete, but is also a young women of great character,” JC coach Jon Hegerle. “Kaitlin comes from a tremendous volleyball program that is a leader in the state of North Dakota in training players in both the skills of the game as well as what it takes to be a productive member of a team.”

Anderson has also been active in basketball, track and field and band. The daughter of Dean and Deb Anderson, she plans to study elementary education.

“I truly believe that Kaitlin will be a great asset to our volleyball program and our campus,” Hegerle said.
