Rasmussen takes 2nd at Century Invite

Colt Rasmussen finished second in the 200 freestyle and sixth in the 500 freestyle to help the Jamestown High School boys swimming and diving team to seventh place out of 12 teams at the Century Invite on Saturday in Bismarck.

Jamestown amassed 151 points, only six behind Grand Forks. Century scored 416.2 points to win the meet, while Minot (302.50) was a distant second.

Rasmussen swam a 1:40.91 in the 200 and a 5:18.54 in the 500.

Riley Thom placed fifth in the diving competition, scoring 331.5 points. Teammate Cody Lutman was eighth with 323.80 points.

The Blue Jays also received top 10 finishes from two of their relays.

The 200 freestyle relay finished sixth with a time of 1:37.89. The 400 freestyle relay was eighth, ending in 3:39.05.

Jamestown hosts Fargo South and Moorhead on Tuesday night in doubledual action before taking 10 days off and coming back with a dual at home against Grand Forks on Feb. 15.
