AAUW to focus on women’s health
The Jamestown branch of AAUW will be focusing on women’s health and their hearts. With heart disease being one of the top causes for early death in women, AAUW is focusing on heart health awareness. At 7 p.m. Thursday, AAUW will hold its February branch meeting at the James River Family YMCA.
The Jamestown branch of AAUW will be focusing on women’s health and their hearts. With heart disease being one of the top causes for early death in women, AAUW is focusing on heart health awareness. At 7 p.m. Thursday, AAUW will hold its February branch meeting at the James River Family YMCA.
The first presenter will be Rayette Walters, who will speak about her own struggles with heart disease as well as educating the group on risk factors and symptoms. Following Walters will be Autumn Shafer, program director for the YMCA. Shafer will lead the group in a short group exercise to help promote becoming healthy for your heart followed by a tour of the YMCA and the changes that are happening in the building.
