One-car crash causes damage

A one-vehicle crash Tuesday caused more than an estimated $5,000 in damage, according to the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office.

A one-vehicle crash Tuesday caused more than an estimated $5,000 in damage, according to the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened around 4:10 p.m. on an Interstate 94 exit off-ramp near Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

Ashley Tostenson, 15, Jamestown, was driving a 2003 Ford passenger car westbound on I-94.

She attempted to take the exit 256 off-ramp, hit a patch of ice and lost control. The vehicle left the roadway going into the north ditch and struck a road sign before coming to rest.

Tostenson claimed a possible injury and was wearing a seat belt.

There was an estimated $5,000 in damage to the Ford and $500 in estimated damage to the sign.

No citations were issued.
