Lottery held for Minot low-income housing project

Minot's newest affordable housing development is about to open its doors and the Minot Housing Authority is drawing names to see who gets to move in.

MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Minot's newest affordable housing development is about to open its doors and the Minot Housing Authority is drawing names to see who gets to move in.

The Minot Daily News reports that the housing authority is conducting a lottery through next week for people interested in the two- three- or four-bedroom units at Washington Townhomes.

Based on family size and income, applicants will be entered into lottery pools for the 16 townhomes. A drawing will determine the winner of each pool.

Minot Housing Authority Director Tom Pearson says the agency hopes to begin leasing the units next month.
