Letter to the editor: Examples abound of crossing the line of morality

I don’t know of any students who have to go without milk at milk break. Not in our school district anyway. Every student gets milk at milk break. Just another typical liberal, feel good, silly milk box collection. If they think students aren’t getting enough milk and want to pay for it, they should cover the expense through the USDA Child Nutrition program. Or maybe they should open their own wallets and actually make a donation that amounts to something rather than collecting a few measly coins. It’s called “giving back” to the hands that feed you.
Always, they talk about big oil and rich people, but when push comes to shove it’s the little guy they take the money from because the oil and rich folks are the ones who grease the political wheels for the politicians.
When it comes to ridiculous legislation the Republicans certainly don’t have a corner on the market. And not funding cartons of milk for school children (most of whom will simply throw it in the garbage anyway — that’s my experience), is not crossing the line of morality.
Crossing the line of morality is allowing abortions in Fargo to continue year after year. Crossing the line of morality is stealing money from middle-income families to fund entitlements. Crossing the line of morality is pretending to give everyone a big break on property tax (I have yet to see it) and then hiking other costs to make up for it, while acting like they are doing us a favor. Crossing the line of morality is trying to disarm law-abiding citizens while criminals remain armed. Crossing the line of morality is cramming legislation down our throats that is bankrupting this country. Crossing the line of morality is lying to constituents on a daily basis and leading by deception. Crossing the line of morality is spending money we don’t have to fund programs we don’t need and turning our nation into a nation of dependents; a bunch of little piggies suckling on a big sow that no longer has any milk.
