5th-graders win tourney

Submitted photo The Jamestown Blue Jays fifth-grade girls traveling basketball team placed first at the Jamestown Cabin Fever Basketball Championships on Feb. 2. The Blue Jays defeated South Border 23-12, Kenmare, N.D. 24-12 and Sutton, N.D., 19-14 in the championship game. The Blue Jays also won their division at a tournament in Aberdeen, S.D., on Jan. 20. The team has a record of 14-8 on the season and has placed second in tournaments in Bismarck and Valley City; third in Aberdeen and fifth in Bismarck.
