Class B roundup: Bison edge Firebirds in triple OT thriller

Barnes County North outscored Central Prairie 8-4 in the third overtime session to outlast the Firebirds 62-58 in triple overtime on Friday night in Class B basketball action.

Four of six Bison scorers had 10 points or more in the marathon with Jacoby Kramlich’s 19 points leading the way. T.J. Steckler (17), David Undem (10) and Brad Clemens (10) were also in double figures as the Bison overcame a 24-16 halftime deficit.

Central Prairie’s Brett Williams had a huge night from downtown, connecting for eight 3-pointers en route to a game-best 27 points. Wyatt Staloch added 14 points for the Firebirds in defeat.

Anthony Olson made a sparkling 12 of 15 shots en route to a game-high 26 points to help LaMoure-Litchville-Marion sail past Sargent Central.

Olson also pulled down nine rebounds and had four steals in the win.

Brady Thielges stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals as the Loboes improved to 14-2 on the season.

Griggs County Central held Larimore to 23 points after three quarters, but then had to hold off a Polar Bear rally for a District 3 triumph.

The Cougars led 33-23 after 24 points, but Larimore scored 23 points in the final quarter to make it tight.

Kris Wathne topped the Cougars with 18 points. Riley Nelson contributed 12.

Trevor Verkuehlen led the Polar Bears with 18 points.

Third-ranked Napoleon hung 21 first-quarter points on the board and rolled from there en route to a District 6 win over Central Prairie.

Sheridon Dewald led nine Imperials in the scoring book with 17 points. Kendra Weigel added 14 and Mariah Jangula eight as Napoleon had 41 points at halftime.

For the Mustangs it was Noelle Moser’s 12-point affair that led the way.

Rachel Williams (15) and Brittany Georgeson (14) were in double figures for the Polar Bears as they posted 19 in the third and 22 in the fourth.

Shaylee Andel’s 19-point led night led all scorers in the game for the Cougars.
