Mayer Truck Line honors drivers’ safety records

Mayer Truck Line, Inc. held its Safe Driving Awards Banquet at Shady’s in the Gladstone Inn & Suites in Jamestown. Mayer Truck Line was celebrating 65 years in business and several professional truck drivers were awarded for driving safely without an at-fault accident.

Mayer Truck Line, Inc. held its Safe Driving Awards Banquet at Shady’s in the Gladstone Inn & Suites in Jamestown. Mayer Truck Line was celebrating 65 years in business and several professional truck drivers were awarded for driving safely without an at-fault accident. These awards are presented under the guidelines of the American Trucking Association.

Mayer Truck Line presented for 2011 three professional truck drivers with million mile awards: 1 million, Richard Wagner; 3 million, Jim Geisler; and 4 million, Myron Mosolf. Million Mile Awards for 2012 were given to five professional truck drivers: 2 million, Bob Carr, Wesley Morlock and Mel Weisenberger; and 3 million, Leon Maki and John Wanzek. They have accumulated 1, 2, 3, 4 million safe driving miles without an at-fault accident. Each driver in the above listed Million Mile category will have his name along with the company’s name placed in the ATA Hall of Fame in Washington, D.C.

Awards denoting the number of years of safe driving were also awarded for 2011 as follows:

Thirty-seven years, Gary Kriedeman; 31 years, Loy Justesen and Myron Mosolf (20 with Mayer Truck Line); 27 years, Doug Wahl; 26 years, John Wanzek (13 with Mayer Truck Line); 24 years, Leon Maki; Twenty-two years, Jim Geisler; 21 years, Don Lee and Ron Simmons; 20 years, Paul Stahlhut; 19 years, Jim Mikkelsen (18 with Mayer Truck Line); 18 years, Bill Luedtke (six with Mayer Truck Line); 17 years, Jeff Zietlow (five with Mayer Truck Line); 16 years, Wesley Morlock (14 with Mayer Truck Line); 15 years, Bruce Fredenburg; 14 years Robert Carr; 13 years, Russ Wendland; 12 years, Donald Sommerdorf; 11 years, Larry Brademeyer, Stuart Foster and Dean Rydell; 10 years, Bill Wanzek; eight years, Phil Davis; six years, Richard Wagner; five years, Jack Jerrel; four years, Larry Maley; three years, Jerome Hills, Roger Pederson and Joe Schuchard; two years, Duane Bennett and one year, Kevin Bell and Dave Minor.

Awards for years of employment with Mayer Truck Line were also presented for 2011 as follows:

Thirty years, Doug Wahl; 25 years, Jim Geisler and Leon Maki; 15 years, Wesley Morlock; 10 years, Bill Wanzek; five years, Jack Jerrel and Jeff Zietlow;

Awards for years of employment with Mayer Truck Line were also presented for 2012 as follows:

Forty years, Gary Kriedeman; 35 years, James Lee; 20 years, Tom Dockter, Bruce Fredenburg, Bob Howes and Marie Ness; 10 years, Phil Davis, Mari Obenchain and Richard Wagner; five years, Tim Gader and Larry Maley.

Mayer Truck Line has one employee retiring this year who was honored at the banquet. Leon Maki is retiring with 26 years at Mayer Truck Line. He received a 25-year patch for years of Safe Driving, and a 3 million miles of safe driving with an accumulation of 3,066,752 miles.
