Katie Conlon continues to excel for the Oregon Ducks.

Conlon, the former Jimmie and Blue Jay standout, placed third in the 5,000-meter race at the Husky Classic at the University of Washington on Friday night.

Conlon finished in a personal-best time of 15:43.73. She had not previously broke the 17-minute mark in the event. She holds the Jamestown College record of 17:32.28 she set as a sophomore at the Sioux City Relays. Conlon’s time of 15:43.73 is the fifth-fastest in the 5,000 in NCAA Division I this season. The time was also the fourthfastest in Oregon school history.

She finished behind only Jordan Hasay, a highly decorated teammate at Oregon, and Juliet Bottorff of Duke in times of 15:46.30 and 15:52.38, respectively.

Conlon is in her first and only indoor season for the Ducks. She helped Oregon to a national championship in cross country in the fall and earned All-American honors individually. She also has one outdoor season of eligibility remaining.

Conlon was an 11-time All-American for the Jimmies in track and cross country.
