Class B roundup: Clippers get past Rebels

Cole Nieuwsma and Kyle Nieuwsma each had 15 points as Strasburg-Zeeland got off to strong start in a 65-49 Class B boys basketball win over Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier on Monday night in Edgeley. Mason Kramer scored 14 for the Clippers, who led 44-23 at halftime. E-K-M’s Mason Madcke tallied 15 points.

Cole Nieuwsma and Kyle Nieuwsma each had 15 points as Strasburg-Zeeland got off to strong start in a 65-49 Class B boys basketball win over Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier on Monday night in Edgeley.

Mason Kramer scored 14 for the Clippers, who led 44-23 at halftime.

E-K-M’s Mason Madcke tallied 15 points.

A big second half defensively carried Carrington past Benson County in Carrington.

Austin Johnson had 14 points and Scott Burnham finished with 11 as the Cardinals trailed 14-7 after one and the game was tied at 21 at halftime. However, Carrington allowed just eight second-half points to cruise to victory.

Jordan Leier and Ryan Sand finished with 14 and 11 points, respectively, for the Pirates, who held a 33-20 lead at halftime before the Miners cut it to seven going into the fourth quarter.

Christian Thompson had 12 for the Wilton-Wing.

Emily Berge dumped in 27 points and Shaye Ronningen added 11 as Midkota downed Pingree-Buchanan-Kensal in Glenfield.

Callie Harding was also in double figures with 11 for the Mustangs, who led 46-40 after three quarters before pulling away in the fourth.

Amanda Beckley (14) and Shantel Albrecht (11) made double-figure scoring for P-B-K.
