The Jamestown Area Grief Support Team is hosting Soup for the Soul, a dinner and program at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 18 in the lounge at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 424 First Ave. S.
This evening will include a meal of soup followed by a presentation by nurses Sarah Fuchs and Renae Lunde titled “Pregnancy and Infant Loss.”
The loss of an infant before, during or after birth is a loss that many have experienced. The grief surrounding this type of loss is unique. Often those who experience the death of their infant in miscarriage, stillbirth or shortly after birth feel lost and unable to articulate to others the extent of their grief.
Men and women who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant as well as friends and family members who grieve for others experiencing this loss are encouraged to attend. The setting is informal and the speakers will allow time for anyone who wishes to share their own experience. However, no one will be asked to share unless he or she is comfortable doing so.
A meal of soup, bread and dessert will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by the program. The meal and program are free.
